I use to get RSVPs to new high end products and knowing its design concept long before it was published and having done some designs based on it to boot, was really looking forward to it. It turned out to be a perversely entertaining afternoon where I succeeded in completely alienating myself from Atlanta's 'golden eared' cognoscenti (GEC, i.e. folks with the financial clout to buy such baubles with just their proverbial pocket change).
Anyway, the short of it was it was the smoothest/flattest sounding set of speakers I've ever auditioned and personally found its styling, fit, finish a work of art (their finish were beautifully shaded from a 'deep/rich', light to dark marine blue befitting a custom), but make music? Blah! Whoever voiced it sucked whatever 'life' it might have had right out of it with the largest, most elaborate XO system I've seen to date plus to my ears they over-damped the back of the drivers too much to further tame their break-up modes BW and I assume to keep its bulk within reason. That, or they use custom drivers with very stiff suspensions (low Vas).
These apparently were beta units to 'test the waters' and of course the GECs were beside themselves with euphoria and blank checks in hand, but maybe they actually gave at least some thought to my politely scathing opinion of its performance since it was at least a year IIRC before I saw an ad for special ordering them, though I don't recall it having a price listed. If you have to ask the price.........

I have seen to many people fall for this expensive item crap and once you pay that much for something you will swear its the best.
Its kinda like the guy that spends 60k for a bottle of wine and it tastes like vinegar. While he is choking that down I will open up a fresh BOX and enjoy it with my Altecs.
They can keep those speakers in Whoville. :rotfl:
They may seem expensive, but keep in mind how much money you'll save on back-scratchers.....
Plus, not to mention that even if they're not hooked up to an amp---because of their shape you can hear the ocean if you put your ear up to them:snickerpup:
